GRAY, William Hamilton. Lt(S), RCNVR, (Ret’d), Logistics

WILLIAM HAMILTON GRAY July 4, 1917 – July 24, 2015, Winnipeg MB. Bill Gray was a lifelong proud citizen of Winnipeg and extremely devoted family man to his six children, 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Helen (2011), and eldest son Bill (2010). He won the 1941 Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) Silver Medal before serving as an Officer in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War. He served as a Pay Sub Lieutenant at HMCS Naden with later service at HMCS Prestonian (09/44) and HMCS Stadacona, Halifax, NS/ (07/45). After the war, he started his distinguished career as a chartered accountant. retiring as a partner of Price Waterhouse in 1980. In 2008, Bill was the recipient of the Manitoba Chartered Accountants Lifetime Achievement Award. Bill was an active member of the Naval Association of Canada.
